Foundations of Health and Happiness-Part 6
In our quest for health and happiness in the raw and living foods lifestyle, there are sometimes things that seem more difficult to achieve, or objectives that just don't seem to ever be achieved. Why is that? What could cause such problems on our path to wellness? Simply put, lack of function.
FUNCTION
As explained by Brian Clement, function is something that all purposeful act requires. Lacking function, the act becomes either an energy drain (because it serves no purpose in your life), either leads you off track (because it makes something else look more interesting an outcome), either skews the issue (because it falsifies your perception of the issue). In such cases, if our acts lack function, then we should completely reject the thought of them and not proceed with them.
Function can also be assimilated to a gathering of people united in the accomplishment of some objective. As in a family function: there is a gathering of family members, let's say a wedding, united in the accomplishment of that objective, in this case, celebration of the union of two persons by the vows of matrimony. Some gatherings can be less productive, or less likely to help us in our quest for better health and happiness. Again, a thoughtful questioning of the function of the event prior to attending is always best to regrets.
One could perfectly create a function requiring no gathering of people. It could be an objective on your path that you strive to achieve that would lead to something greater for you. You could envision a destination, on your path to health and happiness by using living foods, where you can get all the elements for conscious success tied up neatly into one another, for your greater benefit and fulfillment.
So when engaged in our daily activities, we should ask ourselves whether our acts create worthwhile goals for us. Ask if it is required to achieve some greater purpose. Ask if the act has function. Take this contemplative time to build intellectual, emotional as well as spiritual consensus so that the decision you make as a result will be implemented consciously and successfully, for your greater health and happiness.
